REDITUS GREENLIGHTS ENOS FOR DEBUT REENTRY MISSION
Reditus Space has finalized development of its proprietary ENOS spacecraft, a reusable reentry vehicle designed to normalize frequent downmass logistics as the ISS transition looms.

MISSION READINESS
Reditus Space has completed the development of ENOS, its maiden reentry vehicle. According to Payload, the startup is preparing for an inaugural flight this autumn, marking a critical milestone for the company since emerging from stealth in late 2023. As the International Space Station approaches its terminal decommissioning in the 2030s, the market for orbital science return and in-space manufacturing logistics is tightening. ENOS is positioned to capture this demand by bridging the gap between orbital labs and terrestrial facilities.
HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS
The debut ENOS unit represents a 200 kg vehicle capable of transporting a 40 kg payload. For this initial trial, the spacecraft will operate in a hybrid configuration: solar panels, radiators, and external sensor arrays will decouple prior to atmospheric entry, prioritizing the recovery of the core capsule. Reditus CEO Stef Crum told Payload that the mission profile includes a two-month orbital duration followed by a high-velocity reentry peaking at Mach 29. The craft is scheduled for a December splashdown and recovery off the Florida coast.
REUSABILITY PARADIGM
The long-term objective is high-cadence operation—reentering multiple times daily. To achieve this, Reditus is utilizing a proprietary manufacturing process for its heat shields, intended to move beyond the "one-and-done" limitation of traditional ablative systems. While the first flight is a loss-leader, future iterations planned for mid-2027 (ENOS V2) aim for a 60 kg payload capacity and near-total refurbishability. This strategy mirrors the economic shift seen in the launch sector, where amortizing vehicle costs over multiple missions is the only path to commercial victory.
