ORBIT FAB SHIFTS TO OPERATIONAL PHASE WITH NEW LEADERSHIP AND CAPITAL
Colorado-based refueling specialist Orbit Fab appoints Peter Shaper as CEO and secures $25 million in bridge funding to move from engineering demo to commercial execution.

STRATEGIC RESET
Colorado-based Orbit Fab is pivoting from pure technology development to active space logistics operations. According to SpaceNews, the company has appointed Peter Shaper as its new Chief Executive Officer, replacing founder Daniel Faber. Shaper, a private equity veteran and former head of CapRock Communications, aims to convert the firm’s refueling technical stack into a viable commercial enterprise.
FINANCIAL INJECTION
To support this transition, Orbit Fab has secured $25 million in interim funding led by Stride Capital. This bridge capital is designed to sustain operations through late 2024 as the firm prepares a Series B round targeting $30 million to $50 million. The new board will include Stride’s Don Rogers and retired U.S. Air Force Major General Roger Teague.
MISSION MANIFEST
The company’s operational roadmap centers on three upcoming demonstration missions scheduled within the next 18 to 24 months. These flights will deploy Orbit Fab’s fuel "shuttles" to deliver hydrazine to government satellites using the proprietary RAFTI (Rapidly Attachable Fluid Transfer Interface). Success in these missions is critical to unlocking a contract backlog exceeding $40 million.
MARKET SECTORS
While interest in the United Kingdom and Europe is reportedly trailing the U.S. market by 12 to 18 months, Orbit Fab maintains a British office to monitor emerging demand. The U.S. military remains the primary near-term customer, despite ongoing internal Pentagon debates regarding funding priorities for orbital logistics. Shaper indicated that building the "concept of operations"—including firm pricing and docking timelines—is now the company’s highest priority to ensure industrial readiness as the orbital refueling market matures.
