DATA OVERLOAD: ORBITAL TRAFFIC UPGRADE
Portuguese startup Neuraspace has secured €15.6M ($18M) in fresh funding to accelerate the deployment of its AI-powered Space Domain Awareness (SDA) infrastructure. According to Payload, the round consists of venture capital from Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Armilar Venture Partners, complemented by public funding from Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience plan.
The investment follows a period of aggressive expansion for the firm, which reported a 350% revenue increase over the last fiscal year. Neuraspace’s current client roster is diverse, spanning institutional giants like the ESA, defense entities including NATO and the Portuguese Air Force, and commercial operators such as Spire Global and NanoAvionics.
TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE
CEO Chiara Manfletti confirmed that the capital will be deployed to integrate radar capabilities into the company’s existing optical telescope network. This sensor fusion aims to bolster the NeuraspaceDEF platform—a dual-use system designed to provide government and defense users with autonomous risk assessment. The objective is to transition beyond simple collision avoidance into a comprehensive security model that detects both physical and cyber threats in orbit.
