Impulse Space Valuation Hits $5.4B Following $308M Capital Inflow
Impulse Space has finalized an $808M Series D round, driving its valuation to $5.4B as the company scales production of its orbital transfer vehicles and high-energy kick stages.

Impulse Space has secured a $308 million extension to its Series D funding, bringing the total round to $808 million. According to Payload, the new capital injection has pushed the company’s valuation to an estimated $5.4 billion, up from $4.26 billion in June. The extension saw participation from recurring institutional backers including Lux Capital and Valor Equity Partners.
Fleet Expansion
The funding is earmarked for aggressive manufacturing and recruitment as Impulse scales its multi-tier mobility architecture. Current production is focused on three primary systems:
- Mira: The flight-proven maneuvering vehicle, with multiple units currently in production following successful proximity operation tests.
- Helios: A high-energy kick stage designed for rapid LEO-to-GEO transit, with a maiden flight scheduled for 2027.
- Electra: A low-thrust electric propulsion system intended to broaden mission versatility.
Founder Tom Mueller confirmed that production is ramping up to meet sold-out capacity for the 2028 Caravan rideshare missions. The company has also appointed its first CFO, Adam Townsend, to manage this industrial scale-up.
Strategic Defense Alignment
Beyond commercial logistics, Impulse is increasingly integrated into U.S. national security infrastructure. The firm recently secured a position as an upper-stage prime for the NSSL Phase 3 Lane 1 program and received a $28 million contract extension for the Space Systems Command’s VICTUS SALO missions. Additionally, the company is collaborating with Anduril on space-based interceptor technologies for the U.S. Space Force. This capital surge ensures Impulse remains a dominant force in the rapidly commoditizing in-space transportation sector.
