ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot has concluded the third and likely final evaluation of the EuroSuit prototype aboard the International Space Station (ISS). According to European Spaceflight, the testing session took place on July 20, as noted in NASA’s daily operational logs.

The EuroSuit represents a major step in European autonomous hardware development. It is an intravehicular activity (IVA) spacesuit designed under a contract from the French space agency, CNES. The project is spearheaded by a French consortium led by Spartan Space, featuring a specialized partnership with sporting goods retailer Decathlon to leverage ergonomic design expertise.

TEST PARAMETERS AND OBJECTIVES

This specific orbital campaign focused on several critical human-factor metrics:
Ingress/Egress Efficiency: Assessing the speed and ease with which an operator can put on and remove the suit in microgravity.
Ergonomics: Evaluating comfort during extended wear.
* Mobility: Verifying range of motion within the pressurized environment of the station.

While NASA confirmed the activity occurred, official statements from CNES and its industrial partners regarding the performance data remain pending. This milestone marks the completion of the planned three-test sequence, aimed at refining European suit technology for future crewed missions. By developing domestic IVA capabilities, Europe continues to reduce its reliance on external hardware for station operations.
