Orbital Operations: Adenot EVA

A primary focus of this period was the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) preparation for ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot. According to ESA, imagery released during this window captures Adenot engaged in critical EVA training, a prerequisite for sustained presence and maintenance aboard orbital platforms. The footage underscores the agency's ongoing commitment to manned spaceflight and the rigorous technical standards required for European astronauts.

End-of-Life: Cluster Mission

On the planetary defense and sustainability front, ESA monitored the re-entry of the Cluster satellite mission. The agency provided detailed visual documentation of the satellites, specifically the Samba and Tango units, as they engaged Earth’s atmosphere. This controlled re-entry process is part of ESA’s Zero Debris approach, ensuring that decommissioned hardware does not remain as a hazard in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

Executive Leadership

Beyond orbital mechanics, the agency announced a significant administrative realignment. Laurent Jaffart has been officially appointed as the Director of Resilience, Navigation, and Connectivity.
